I couldn't find a subject to paint. All these elements were still on the table in front of me so I came up with this arrangement. I have been debating on softening the black corner on the top right. However, It would look good framed in black so the corner blends into the frame. Your thoughts would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I like this! The black doesn't bother me at all. And, yes, it would look good in a black frame.
ReplyDeleteI like the black as well. It creates a good contrast. I'm sure a black frame would look great.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful depiction of the glass in the bottle. The glow in the apple is great too. I particularly like your brushwork.

ReplyDeletethe black doesn't bother me either and yes, it would look great in a black plein air frame!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary!
ReplyDeleteLeave the black. It's part of the composition which is very strong. The fabric folds are beautifully done. Great painting.
ReplyDeleteBrad, this is a very dramatic painting. I love it just like it is. The dark corner adds a quality that enhances the rest of the painting . I bet it does look stunning in a black frame.
