The Cabin

36"x24" acrylic on canvas

This was another fun landscape to paint. Especially with the Christmas music playing in the background! It was fun playing around with the elements and modifying them a bit to make a better composition. I went back and forth on what to do with the foreground. I felt it needed to be softened with a shadow to add visual interest and also to include a path of light leading back up to the focal point (the cabin). In my opinion it worked and I am very happy with the results.

    Creo que has logrado una sucesión de planos muy interesante. Me gusta particularmente cómo has resuelto el primer plano, con gran sensación de realismo pero conduciendo la mirada hacia el punto focal. Fantástico, Brad.

    Thank you Janet! I am so glad you like it! I like to hang it up and study it for a while. This way I can keep coming back fresh. Sometimes I find something that bothers me that needs to be fixed...

    Now we will have to pick put a frame!!

    Beautiful painting! Not only is it artistically elegant, it is also very meaningful to those of us lucky enough to have many, many memories of the land, the cabin, and the family and friends connected to it. You have captured the peaceful feeling that is now and then experienced at the top of the hill. It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you.
