Amphora

9"x12" acrylic on masonite
Photo reference by photographer Marcus Ranum

I have been enjoying painting the backgrounds very loosely and keeping my subject more refined in some of my latest works. I think I will do some more pieces like this in the future.

  1. This is lovely Brad, I really like your handling of the background in such a loose way compared to the more finished look of the woman.

  2. Un trabajo magnífico. Sumamente poético, Brad; lo encuentro muy Romántico y me ha hecho recordar en la pose a Ofelia del pintor George Frederic Watts.

  3. This is gorgeous, Brad. I love the loose background, it's almost an echo of the shadows on her toga. Your cowboy and Stella paintings are also quite wonderful, too.
